The wrap cross carry – starting from birth onwards
The best thing about this carrying method is that you can carry very young infants nice and tightly (as if tailor-made) in this position. It is also very comfortable in the summer, because only one layer of cloth is covering the baby.
When infants start to become larger and heavier, however, you should change to another method because the carrier is supporting most of the baby's weight on the upper shoulder and neck area, and this can become uncomfortable.
