Woven baby slings by HOPPEDIZ® with certificate for UV protection
Protection factors between 2 and 30 were determined for the individual slings. Protection factor 30 has a high degree of protection; only a very small amount (less than 1.5%) of ultraviolet rays (A and B) is able to penetrate the sling fabric.
Our bright woven baby slings (e.g. Casablanca) and light baby slings were awarded protection factor 2. Only a maximum of 15% and 7% of UVA and UVB rays, respectively, are able to penetrate the cloth of these slings. In other words, babies are well protected from dangerous sunlight, even in a low protection factor baby sling.
Some of our woven baby slings already have a special sunscreen label. Regardless of whether or not they bear the label, the protection factors from our test reports apply. You can find the exact protection factors of all woven baby slings and the corresponding test reports here
Please remember to take extra precautions to protect the uncovered sensitive skin of children in baby slings exposed to direct sunlight. Apply a baby sunscreen with a very high sun protection factor, and cover the child’s head with a hat or cloth. Baby’s legs can best be protected using HOPPEDIZ® baby gaiters or conventional socks.
